pc_9061Tim Brunner
Tim was raised in the small town of Brillion, Wisconsin, he attended Auburn University and earned a B.S in biology before pursuing his degree in Veterinary Medicine, graduating from Auburn in 1994. He practiced medicine in a mixed animal practice in Wisconsin until he purchased Southlake Animal Hospital in October of 1996. In 1999 he built Weatherly Animal Hospital, with the goal of providing the highest quality veterinary care in the area. In July of 2010, Dr. Brunner formed a corporation named Alabama Veterinary Management Services, P.C. to oversee the daily operations of these locations. Dr. Brunner and his wife Jennifer have 3 children, one is in graduate program in Kansas State University, one enrolled at Birmingham-Southern College and the youngest in 9th grade. Currently they have 2 canine companions at home, a golden retriever and a mastiff mix.
pc_9061Bill Whitfield
Bill is a native of Birmingham and graduated from Ensley High School in 1972. He earned his DVM from Auburn University in 1978 and worked three years at Forestdale Veterinary Clinic before opening his own practice, Riverchase Animal Clinic, in 1981. After twenty-seven years, he sold the practice in 2008 and joined Dr. Brunner at Southlake. Bill has been married to Suzanne since 1974, and they have two grown children, Valerie (Salinas) and Ben, plus 1 grandson (Henry Salinas) and a granddaughter set to arrive in mid-December 2011. At home, Dr. W has 2 long-haired dachshunds (Molly and Cami), a wirehaired dachshund rescue (Aubie), and Max the cat, who Suzanne found abandoned in Cullman. Bill’s hobbies include traveling and reading about history—especially American history and biographies—and spending time outdoors at his getaway in Clay County, Alabama.

Ashley grew up in Calera, AL, where she married her high school sweetheart, Kyle. They have a son, Deion. Ashley has been working in the veterinary world for over 10 years. They have 3 dogs, Diamond, Dro and Zoi and 5 cats, Callie, Gizmo, Mia, BonQuiQui and Tyrone.

Robert grew up in the Birmingham area. He has worked in the grooming industry for over 15 years! He has been apart of our Southlake family for over 10 years.


And Our Honorary Members…

Gilbert is our clinic cat at Southlake Animal Hospital, he has been with us for about 11 years. He can be found either sleeping in various locations throughout the clinic or outside chasing the chipmunks. His favorite place to sun himself is on the bench in the front yard.
